Finding Your Passion

In this important exercise we examine what really makes you tick (your passions), what makes you special (your strengths) and what your REAL obligations are (financial thresholds).  What do you really need to live on to:

Plan A) maintain your lifestyle as-is? vs.

Plan B) cut expenses and a few frills, but still get by comfortably? vs.

Plan C) to live on $1 ramen noodles?

You'll be surprised what can happen when you stop thinking of your career as a ladder and instead ask yourself: what if I was only responsible for doing the best I could with my talents, and owned my own happiness?

5 Steps to Handling an Unforeseen Exit

Even if you're not actively looking for the next step, make sure you're opening all the doors possible.  In this workshop, we look at removing fears as an obstacle to the road ahead.  You'll create and own the narrative with this simple three sentence formula:

  • Sentence one, paint picture of your epiphany ("I realized...").
  • Sentence two, rise above statement (e.g., "I decided I needed to not be an _______ but a leader and developer of companies.")
  • Sentence three, bigger and badder is coming  ("it's time to move on, ready for something new and exiting!"; "Stay tuned...")

Kindness to Yourself and Other Women

Come with positive energy, always: did you wake up this morning and say something positive to yourself?  Or were you critical about your figure, hair or makeup?

We have enough to deal with as women: we multi-task which means our brains are basically a constant circus – highwire act, elephant talent show and ringmaster while being shot out of a cannon!   Layer on top of all of this that we’re in the process of overcoming decades of bias: glass ceilings, gender and race stereotypes and biases, balancing family and work.

Do you want to be a person who points at the problem or someone who is part of the solution?  If you don't have anything nice to say about any colleague, especially a woman - don't say anything at all.
